Bad time for steering to break

The same exact thing happened to me in my old boat with a teleflex dual cable no feedback set up,I know I've told this story on here before but here it is again for those who haven't seen it, mine flipped twice but I didn't go swimming, somehow managed to stay in the boat and it landed up right half full of water, the engine broke away from the clamp and was hanging off by the trim ram so the cables were ripped right off and they never could figure out what actually broke on the steering, I'll never drive another boat without hydraulic steering.

I drove this boat for 6 years before that happened and was very comfortable in it so I was not wearing a life jacket, very lucky that I stayed in the boat because I did get knocked out for a few minutes, by the time I came to someone was already in my boat, never know when something is gonna go wrong, now if it's going on the pad I put a jacket on.

unfortunately I don't have pics of the motor dangling off the back but I think my dealer still has some, I'll see if I can get them if he does.

It might look a little over powered but it handled the big 3.0 no problem, it was very stable and never chine walked at 81mph, if the steering wouldn't have broke I would probably still have it but my wife wouldn't ride in it anymore after the accident so I sold it.

I heard boating on ice tends to be hard on the steering. :rof:

Very funny BRIO, that pic with the ice was at the lake before I hauled it to the city to go on the river.
