just like to know if anyone has had any experience with the johnson 300 v8,iam looking at one thats set up nice but i just dont want to make the wrong move.....any thoughts??

I had one on my 23 checkmate. It was very tempermental and loved fuel.
MPG was actually feet per gallon!

iam putting together an enchanter with a killer transom....kinda figured this would be like havin a big block early corvette

I think they are probably the coolest sounding outboard out there!! But they do love the fuel. But if you are looking to just take the boat out and blast around the lake a little bit, or get to your favorite party spot REALLY fast and then tie up, who cares about fuel!! That big old motor would look killer hanging on the back of an enchanter. People would know you mean business. I say go for it!!!

I just watched a few videos, those engines sound awesome. A few reminded me of watching old race footage with classic Italians running.

Seems like they are a love it or hate it type of motor. Mudshark on here has one and his boat is reliable and runs fast from what I know. They sound like an F1 car screaming down the lake. I've seen and heard his at Sacandaga a couple of times.

i used to spend my summers on saratoga lake but id like to get up to sacandaga when i put this boat together!! seems there is a lot of hot boats up there!

June is The Adirondack Romp, usually the first full weekend. Tons of hot boats show up, lots of fun. Go over to Scream and Fly and check the event threads from the past ones and the picture threads too.
