Firstly, I'm sorry for screwing up Bills ad for selling his ZT.

May I offer a suggestion, delete all the other posts (or at least mine and whoever elses) and leave his thread the way it was so people can reply to his for sale stuff not to make comments on the boat...

no problem Z, I learned my lesson before about voicing how I feel here and now go by unless I have something nice to say, I keep my mouth shut. I am just pissed my thread was closed and not edited. To me, not the right way to run the forum!

Guys if you want to discuss how Checkmate sucks then do it in main not the buy and sell forum.

We've already had the great debate about how threads will be dealt with that we feel are inappropriate for one reason or another. Here is the link...

Now, I haven't had a chance to speak with JW about this matter as of yet, so I don't have all the details. But, from reading what I see posted, it seems a little unfair to be bashing Mate without at least putting your facts forward on what they have done wrong. To just intimate that they suck, have screwed someone or whatever, but provide no proof or details, isn't too cool in my books. My guess is that JW felt the same way and that's why he decided to close the thread. But whatever....

Last time Bill had issues with Mate I suggested that I felt it best that he tried to handle the issue privately. But, if the final result was that he couldn't get matters sorted, he was free to come here and post the details of his dissatisfaction. But, the other parties would be free to post their side of the story too. And, as long as the discussion stayed civil I would allow it to play out.

So if Bill wants do that, that's his perogative. And the proper forum would be main not buy and sell.

Bill, I replied up above about why I closed it. Really, with the options that we have it's a no-win situation all around. Closing is the least nasty of all the options, as the thread will slip down out of view as new ones come in. You can now go in and start a brand new thread, all clean and maybe even improved, without all the negative posts below it to turn off prospective buyers. I know I'd be pretty ticked off if my 'For Sale' thread got all spammed up. Closing the thread is all I could do to help out.....following my moderator rules. And I agree with Chris, if I had edited or deleted them it would cause worse problems........So there you go, best I could do for ya. Make us a new 'For Sale' ad, link a few great pictures in, and then hope nobody messes it up.........

Or is this thread simply a, "I'm pissed at Mate and I'm prepared to sell" protest ad?

HMMM... how can this be I'm pissed at mate and prepared to sell? All I did is list the boat!! I said nothing negative on the forum, why would I do that on something I am listing for sale. I did not ask anybody to post anything about my boat. As i said before, if anyone is interested, e-mail me @ fischerbill@msn.com so we can discuss this boat privately. I do not have to sell this boat, I just feel it is my best interest to open my options. I took a ride/drive in an Eliminator cat last weekend and loved it. 5 people on board and running 89mph in a 3 foot chop was nice. THe wife loved it, and that is from someone who freaks out at 65 in my boat now in a 2 foot chop.

No Chris, my problem was that it was not closed. I did not realize that you can't edit anymore and the only way to do it was to close it. Just one suggestion though, remove it, because the negative still can be seen, so the only good closing does is not allowing anyone to add more, yet all can still read it. Any issues I have with the boat, I deal with Bayview, not the forum! Cool??!
