Here are some pics,The crank has not been measured yet ,but looks great from eyeballing it,,The block has some grooves where the crank rings ride,,Looks like 2 rings flew the coop,Not there, and where it use to ride has been ovaled out..Was trying to find info on search but had no luck,,looks like some people leave them out for drag racing, from what I found,,can I leave them out when I rebuild????Or should I kick the block aside and tear down my spare and hope I do not find the same thing??

The ring groves can be welded and re machined .. the motor that was on the Quartershot did not have rings in it and ran 100 passes before it came apart nothing to do with the seal rings it pulled a wrist pin out of the piston at 8500 RPM and made a real mess of the block.. how was the motor running before you took it apart..

I found that after they wear a while, the ends become sharp (squared off) and cut into
the block as they rotate! When rebuilding... chamfer the end so it doesn't cut! Block
is soft material.
