along with my "98" 251 checkmate, and my "94" 12' 9" hydrostream voodoo, i just purchased a "87" checkmate playmate gt with a 50 h.p merc. on it. its out of wisconsin and was on site called boatxchange.com and the marina was called inland marina it is an all original boat, its cherry red and black with white interior with red and black strips. this boat is a "gem" of a find. I always wanted one but were hard to find. so when i found this one, i jumped on it!(after convincing my wife)i will try to post pics after i pick it up. i leave this friday at 12:00pm to drive 13 hours (758 miles according to my gps)one way,(maryland to wisconsin)i go for a ride in it before i bring it home, just to make sure its golden. this boat is BEAUTIFUL! wish me luck.:bounce:
 
Where in Wisconsin ? Can WE water test ??!! You snuck one right out from under our noses !

If any where near I'd gladly meet you just to take a look. I imagine you're planning on driving straight through ?
 
yup, thats the place inland marina. I googled checkmate playmate and thats one of very few sites that popped up. i talked to the guys their and they said there was a guy from conn. and seattle wash. looking at it, but no one put any money down on it. so i gave him goodwill money over the phone and he took it off the site, and put sold on it for me. so he said we could water test it before i gave him the rest of money. yes we are almost driving straight through. we are leaving at 12:00pm and hopefully getting close to their around 12:30-1:00 am, staying in hotel then getting up yearly doing the deal, then heading straight home, hopefully without having to stop at a hotel.then sleeping ALL day sunday(after tinkering with the little guy)so i hope all go's well. i will post pics when i get back. this boat is a beaut.:rof::banana:
 
yeh, i hope i have good weather. i bought a hitch for my wifes 04 alero just for this trip b/c of my silverado getting 13-14 mpg and hers getting 28-30 mpg. plus her car is cherry red with tinted windows and the check is cherry red and black should look pretty good going down the road. and my wife says we will probally be divorced after the trip b/c she doest know how shes going to ride with me in the same car for 13 hours straight,ha,ha,ha.
 
thats a good one hotbeek, i LIKE that idea!!hahahahahah it will look like a 65mph parade going down the highway with her back there.hahahahahahahahah
 
Let her sit in the drivers seat of the boat and experience what it going to be like driving the boat on the water !:lol: Now that would be worth a photo op.
 
Just so you know they're talking 80 for Friday ! That's always a good sign ! Maybe the wife can layout on the boat and get some sun on the way home !:eyecrazy:

right on, that would actually be pretty hot going down the road. 29 year old hot chick on the bow of a cherry red and black boat. i would dig that, heck i would take some pics myself, oh thats right i have to drive! lol
