Bouncing Checkmate

Hey, Not sure if this is the right forum section for this question but ive had the new enticer out a few times now and its runs great, but around 25-30 mph I sometimes get a pretty hefty bounce going even in flat water. Its basically the bow bouncing up and down steadily as if I am passing over a decent size wake or something..... but no waves, at higher speeds it seems to disappear and when I had two people up front i noticed it wasnt as bad, is this a trim issue? or something else, or completely normal on this boat? any help would be appreciated.

It is probably a trim issue. Mine will do the same thing if I trim too much too soo. The urge is to trim as much as possible as soom as possible, but with the fron ight and all the weight to the rear, porpoising is usually the result. Try trimming down a bit, or speeding up a bit. If either correct it then you know it's the trim relation to the hull design. It wants to go faster...

Mine bounces real bad if I take the Hydrofoil off the motor.
I have been told it is a balance issue.
I think I read on the board that a jackplate would help.
More weight in the front? Not good for speed though.

My 2 cents

Most boats will porpoise regardless of weight distribution, although weight dist is a factor. A hydrofoil or trim tabs or as 83 said, diffrent props will help elliminate porpoising but Whenever mine starts I just trim it in a bit or feather the throttle until it stops. Its compleatly normal, you just have to play with it to get it to stop.

The worst is when you're trying to pull a tube. You can't go faster b/c you don't want to kill the guy on the tube, and my trim was all the way down. THis was in my old i/o boat though.

thanks for all the responses, thats about as much as I figured, but wanted to make sure it wasnt some freak thing like my transom was about to fall off or something, The outboard does have those side fins on it so I guess Ill leave them on, but good to know its nothing serious, I had noticed if I trimmed all the way down it was better, guess Ill just have to put the hammer down hahaha, most of my friends have a hell of a strong death grip on the tube anyways and it takes finally pushing em up well over 30 and throwing in a few death spins to knock em off

i think most tubes are rate for about 26mph, keep in mind when doing the death spin they are probably doing 2-3x what you are doing, i almost ripped a vest off a friend doing that. they flipped about 5 times lol looked like they were doing a carwheel. when they got in the boat the snaps were past their side - almost to their shoulder blades. they hurt for a few days... but she never told me i couldnt throw her off again!!!
