Brand New In NC

Just purchased what appears to be a 1978 Tri-Mate 1, judging by the brochure photos in the gallery. I'll know for sure when I get the paperwork and pick up the boat on Saturday. The only major problems I see are peeling clearcoat, and of course the upholstery is trash from sitting in the sun. Also, there is no motor. I have a line on a 110-115hp engine, but was wondering what size engine is a good fit for this boat?? I only gave $200.00 for it, on the original trailer, and the transom and overall condition of the boat, and trailer, is good.

Howdy and welcome! New to the form myself. I purchased a 75 TRV with a 115 Merc about a month ago. You have came to the correct place this site is full of info. I have spent hours reading the forms and the the things i have learned is (well it can get me into a lot of trouble). Never-the -less i have found this to be a great source of info and everyone is so helpfully. Good Luck. pm me and let me know what part of NC you are in.

NO put it in your avatar on the side there (ps.. Welcome aboard). I grew up in Reidsville. Mom and sister still live there and I want to get back there myself.
