Build or buy used stock engine?

Matt, Right now he has some new and used engines he bought to resell at good prices. If you want his cell I will PM it to you, or look up Smittys Engine and transmission on facebook

KThe complete rebuild of my 600sc is just over 5k. That is including boring and decking the block, brand new Promaxx 317cc aluminum heads($1700), brand new longer rods, SRP mini dome pistons, new hyd roller cam and lifters( was flat tappet), new pushrods, basically new everything except crank and block. All labor included. Just wanted to share the cost so you have some idea. Millets are the real deal and have some extreme power coming out of the shop.

That's good to know. I'd need to add a crank carb and intake to it as well. I didn't realize heads were under 2K.

Some brands of heads are expensive and not necessarily better. Should make around 800hp and will find out when it hits the dyno. Jegs and Summit are a good place to look. To rework my old 088 heads would have been to expensive.

I think those go for way more. But who's counting? Let me just bust out the wallet.

Uhmm...yeah. I was way off. Apparently the 1350 with the M8 is a $200K combo. I can't even imagine what a 1650 would run. I thought I was pretty hot stuff with a new outboard. Apparently, the Marine Big Block world is where the big boys play.
