burst hydraulic line

1979 trimate with 115 tower of power. was raising the motor yesterday and noticed a large oil leak in the trim. a line burst right above the fitting above the trim cylinder. anybody know a good place to source these? Also, can i still run the boat w/out the tilt/trim or would it be best to wait for a new line.

Thanks

I personally would not run the boat, but that is up to you.

Good luck, I wish I had better info, but I have not worked on many TOP's.

X2 you might end up gettting water back in.

i think TheNerd had some lines like the TOP's used for his old boat

TopEntincer got some for his TOP late last year when he put his jackplate on, i wonder where has he been???

I personally look for a cheap alternative but with quality. If it is a rigid aluminum line I would take it off by loosening the 2 screw fittings and take it to a automotive mechanic. Sometimes they cam re-make them since brake lines are the same design. Made my own for my 80' 85 Hp evinrude. Make sure it coils around. Their designed to be flexable. Hope this helps. I'm imagining this as if it was like my motor.

thanks for the help, i chose not to go out yesterday because of it, lol. It's actually a flexible line for the inline 6 tower. i found it for around 45.00 online, but a local marine shop was able to order it for 55.00 and get it here much quicker than the 7-10 days quoted me online. (he acually said he might have it tomorrow morning). I also like supporting the mom and pop's shops as much as i can in the present economy. I'll have it done in plenty of time for this weekend :).
