Canadian Boat Insurance

Interested in hearing from anyone with a rig that runs in excess of 70 mph as to what they pay for insurance. Wondering if I'm getting competitve rates. Thanks.

I pay 534.$ for my 09 pulsare 2100 w/250xs..
Premier marine through Pigeon (broker) in Ottawa..
Pierre

Pierre - Do you know what kind of coverage you get for that? I think I've got a guaranteed replacement value amount on the boat if it gets stolen.

Just got quoted $800 + for a my 1987 checkmate senator through State Farm here in Ottawa. Does that seem right? I think thats way toooo high..

Thanks

Shawn

actually they didnt ask. They just asked value, year and make, length, drive and horsepower. I said 300 hp. Its actually 330 on the 454 mag.

Any suggestions?

Call PBL Insurance (613-746-4363 ask for Donna Lafontaine)),they deal w/Premier Marine.
They will ask for MPH,Just tell them 60 MPH..

thanks so much.... really appreciate the info. Ill call them and will let you know how I made out.

is 60mph the magic number?

My premium is $690.
That is w/09 pulsareW250xs..(wont tell you how old i am..LOL)
I believe i reported 74 MPH..
Let me know how you make out.. :thumb:
There is also Marine Expert, but they were always more expensive in my case..

Thanks again for your input.

State Farm called me back first thing this morning. They changed it from $800 to $977. I explained the whole deal, the fact that its not a brand new boat, its not worth $40K, it wont go over 60 mph, etc. No change. Then just for fun I said punch in a 09 pulsareW250xs. They quoted me for $999. WOW.

Sooo, then I called you number you gave me twice. Busy both times.

Shortly after - I received a call back from my home insurance company. They deal with PREMIER. It obviously is the company to deal with. They quoted me full coverage for $400 + taxes (with a $750 deductible). Sounds like a deal to me.

What a process...glad to have that over with.

Shawn
