cant get more speed

As for the Hydrostreams, just race them on a very choppy day. a) you will beat them and b) their hulls will completely delaminate since they were built like cheap lawnchairs.

Damn Mark that's brutal but funny!!!!!:rof:

He's right, a friend of mine had one and the bottom came right out of it. I have never seen anything like it,Damn thing just started to fall apart, he was lucky enough to make it to shore and run it up on the grass before it went down. boat was a total loss. But he saved the motor from going under.

They scrimped on the resin to make them lighter (or cheaper) and most fof the older ones actually did have the core seperate. Some opened up like a can of sardines at 70 MPH. If you look online you will see site after site about how to recore a Hydrostream. Now Checkmates built a great hull... just a crumby floor!

You are way overpropped. You should drop down at least to a 21" pitch. That should give you 5400-5500 RPM. I would try a Renegade. They work well in a modest HP/weight situation. Good lift and control.

I wonder if modman ever outran the lawnchair boat?
I would rather be safe than sorry no matter how fast you make your ride there's always going to be someone to outrun you, more power to them!

you need a chopper.. i had a 1978 v-mate 18' with stock 150 merc. and a 26 chopper would spin almost 6000 rpm at 63 mph gps with 2 adults.. and you wont beat the hydro.. but good luck
