Carpet alternatives?

So I found a place that has cheap vinyl flooring.

http://www.garysupholstery.com/deckodot.html

They sent me a few samples and it's actually only a little thicker than vinyl upholstry. The dots in the pics above are only about 1/8" in diameter. It's only about $20 per 3' @ 6' wide. So the 15' I need would only be $100. I think with it glued to the floor it would be pretty durable.

Yes, checkmate sells the pirelli flooring - for $26 per foot. Would be a little pricey - I'd need about 15 feet. $400. But you'd only do it once... Probably worth the extra $300 in material.

I just replaced all the floors and stringers in my 81 Diplomat and had a Speedliner sprayed in instead of carpeting. I am fortunate enough to work in a car dealership that sprays in these liners and it only cost me materials and a few pizza's from papa johns. I still had about 350 into it with 6 gallons of speedliner the kevlar and the white pigment. I was concerned about being wet and slick but it isn't in the least bit without shoes on. It is a very thick spray that does fill alot of small imperfections but you still need to smooth it out for the most part. I will try and get pictures of it and post them as soon as I have time.

Pirelli floor in my boat is nice. I took the snap in carpet out the first day and put it in the garage. I wipe the floor with a wet towel and sweep everything to the middle and it is easy to keep clean.

Would prefer a fiberglass deck with drains to the bilge (or overboard) but this is the next best thing.

I just repainted my interior... This time through it I wound up painting all of it including the engine compartment with low gloss imron in a light grey. After I filled and sanded with epoxy/phenolic baloons, I primed it with 2 part urethane primer and then rolled and brushed it on. With the newer paint technologies out there, imron's come down in price to the point where it was under $100 for a gallon with hardener. Note that it's perfectly safe to apply with a particulat / carbon (organic vapor) combination respirator as long as you aren't spraying it (it's the aerosolized isocyanate that's highly dangereous) and are in a well ventilated area (ie the driveway or yard).

I also used the interlux "intergrip" non-skid product on the floor areas. The whole thing came out great. The nice part is that it's well sealed so if I do decide to put carpet or a vinyl product down later, no problem.

OH, and I don't think I ever want to take up carpeting that's been well glued down again. what a mess. I'll be interested to see how yours comes out...

Now, I'm potentially interested in snap in carpet. where would you check?
