Checkmate Enticer w/115 Rude

So, I have always wanted a Checkmate and I found one last fall and I have to say I love the way it looks, I love the lines and I cant wait to get it on the water.

I found this gem on craigslist of course, contacted the guy and he said it was in good shape and could get it running with the muffs. So I drove the 2 hours to look at it after seeing a couple of pictures. The trailor was ok, solid but needed some paint, the hull was in great shape but the floor was rotted, the vinyl was shot. And wouldn't you know he couldn't get the Rude started.... At this point I was ready to walk away and his wife stopped me and said she wanted it out of her driveway. I told her that I was sorry but I wasn't going to pay the $700 they were asking because I was mislead about the condition of the boat. I think she felt bad and told me to just take it. The guy was begging me to take it after she gave it away. :bigthumb:So FREE BOAT,,trailor and dead motor...

I took it to my buddy who works at a Marina and he had it running in 15 minutes. :cheers:We then rebuilt the lower unit and we took it on the lake and this thing rips.... I couldn't believe it..... So here I am now, found this awesome website, and ready to take on the cosmetics....Looks like complete floor replacement, not sure about the transom yet but probably will be doing that too. New seats and vinyl work. Maybe paint before next summer.

Right now, I have everything ripped out of it, the floor is pulled and starting to remove the stringer and foam. Will be checking out the Transom soon to see how that looks.

Hopfully I can as much information out of you all as possible, your advise would be greatly appreciated. Cant wait to get started. Pics will be on the way soon.

I do have one question.... The Manufactures plates says its an Enticer, but is there a way to tell what year it is?

welcome to the site, good to see another NH owner... throw some pics of this gem up on the site... where do you boat?

Thanks yellow. I will check it out tomorrow to get the year...

Chris, I mostly do my boating at Mascoma Lake, Connecticut River and we have a camp on Goose pond in Canaan/Enfield. Its a small pond so this is where I have been taking the Enticer to test run it a little...

wow small world, just commented on your resto thread, and read this one and realized youre in the same town as me, with the same model checkmate as me. I live in Hanover just up from the coop. Id have gone to the garage to check for the boat if yours didnt have the 115 on it. Lemme know if you want some in person advice or a hand sometime with the resto!

:surf:

Teamhart, Glad to meet someone from the area as well...
I'm just a few miles up the road in Hanover Center, at the end of etna rd just before you hit Goose Pond Rd.

I may take you up on the offer someday...
