CHECKMATE OWNER'S RALLY 2010

All Checkmate owners are invited to attend the "CHECKMATE OWNER'S RALLY 2010"! The rally will take place on July 17, 2010 on Lake Cumberland Ky. at the Conley Bottom Marina. There is no charge to participate in this event.
10:00am- the fleet will assemble at Conley Bottom Marina and head down to Harmon Creek to raft up with the locals and make them wish they had a Checkmate!
1:00pm- the fleet will go to Jamestown/State dock for lunch. Both marinas have food available at the dock. It is up to you which marina you want to grab a bite to eat at.
2:30pm-the fleet assembles and heads for Wolfe Creek Dam. We will have plenty of room for you to run, race, or just show off your boat. We will also have a raft up at submarine island.
After the raft up, boaters can either return to Conley Bottom, go to Jamestown/State Dock or Grider Hill Marina for a dock party (most week- ends they have live bands performing), or have an overnight raft up party.
We encourage you to start making plans and reservations as this will be here soon. If you plan on staying at Jamestown/State Dock or Grider Hill prior to the event, I can meet up with a group on that section of the lake. All of the marinas have websites and you can get information about them there. The State Dock website also has a map from last years' poker run that will give you an idea of the route we will take.
If you need additional information please contact "lcboater" (Barry) 859-582-6056 or "yellowfiero88" (Brian)513-385-2488, we will be glad to help you any way we can. Be sure to tell all of your friends about this event. We are expecting a huge turnout, but there is always room for more!

At this time my and Brains plans are to head down Thusday and reserve a couple of the best camp sites availalbe at Conley Bottom.(first come first served policy)Water veiws near the docks! Each campsite can accommodate up to six adults. So when the time comes and your a camper we'll have room for others to join our sites.

I'm thinking of an earlybird Bon-Fire on Thursday nite for everyone down already and discuss Fridays plans Sking Tubing Exploring?

Heres a little site map of Conley Bottom Resort. The green areas are the camping area and the circled docks are the camping docking slips

I think we will be in for camping in the back of the truck if I take the one with the cap, or if I brought the 24 down- we could sleep onboard in a cove or Connly Bottom.

Whats everyone doing? I'd like to be hanging with the gang...

I know that Merc and YF are planning on camping and grabbing a couple of sites. Are you guys using tents? We might try to get in on that campsite if we bring a tent.

We'll be able to get there Friday late morning and stay till Sunday somtime. Gotta be back on Monday:(

I am not sure where we are staying. We will probably stay on the boat somewhere. If there is going to be a group on the other end of the lake i will try to stay with them so we can all meet up and go in one group.Big Red is also kickin' around the houseboat thing. It will be a fun time no matter where you are!:D

I'd probably like to camp where we can have a party and a good time with the majority. Once things get figured out, let me know whoever is camping and I will be an accomplice to the shennanigans. I already have it scheduled off from work!

Conley Bottom will be the place for camping, but wherever you stay you will have a great time.I am trying to get as much information out to everyone as i can so people can go ahead and make thier plans.:thumb:

I got a call today from the manager of Grider Hill Marina. She said she was glad to hear about our event and if a group of people are interested in Grider hill, she would"make a very good group rate for us". If anyone is interested please contact them directly,i gave all of the info in the earlier post.

They are offering us some pretty good deals.I think if you could get a group to reserve you will get better rates.

Ok now is a good time to figure out who is going and where.

1~ This is not a place to wait to the last minute and think you will get a campground, house or house boat rental. This is a hotspot for the midwest and a lot of people reserve rentals a year early. I rented a house last year 7 months early and about 90% of the places were reserved already.
2~ In order to get discounted group rates we have to be able to say I have "XX people" that want to rent. I know Barry has been talking to the marina's and has already got some discounts but the more people, the better the discount offered.
3~ The sooner we talk with the marina's the better the discount

Tho this does not lock anyone into going, please post up asap, and only if your sure you are going. We don't want to negotiate for 45 boats and only have 15 show up. We all understand if circumstances were to come up and you can't make it but don't leave us holding the bone.
Thanks ya'll!

Checkmate Raft up

:surf:
We are from Madison Wisconsin with a 24' Checkmate Enforcer. Two couples. We Are interested in comming for the July 17th week and the raft up day. We don't know the area and are looking for a place to stay (not in a tent) where there is a bar or band playing at night. Can anyone recomend a place to stay. (Condo, motel, anything within walking distance to a late night beer.) Also a place to dock and leave our boat in the water. All three in one place would be great. (Beer, boat dock, and a place to stay) Even better if it was near the rest of the Checkmate group.
