CHECKMATE OWNER'S RALLY 2010

I planning to attend if all falls into place for me,
I would like to send my boat on my friends low boy or inclosed big rig. I may need info where to park it when it arives. or if it goes a head some one to receive it for me,
With Justins help my new rigger we plan on making some changes before it goes out.
YF when will you be there? and could you be of assistance, I don't want to bruden anyone just receive my boat and park it, keep an eye on it untill I get there. I may be able to time it right so I don't need help but it will be a long haul for me.

Also lodging info if anyone has any.

Thanks

MK

We are from Madison Wisconsin with a 24' Checkmate Enforcer. Two couples. We Are interested in comming for the July 17th week and the raft up day. We don't know the area and are looking for a place to stay (not in a tent) where there is a bar or band playing at night. Can anyone recomend a place to stay. (Condo, motel, anything within walking distance to a late night beer.) Also a place to dock and leave our boat in the water. All three in one place would be great. (Beer, boat dock, and a place to stay) Even better if it was near the rest of the Checkmate group.

Sounds like jamestown marina is the place you want however all areas around cumberland are dry so it will be BYOB:(. Barry will be able to offer better assistance on the questions than me.

I talked to Mike about the shipping and I think we got an initial plan worked out.:thumb:

The area around the lake is dry so you will need to bring your own.You can buy by the drink at lee's ford marina at the Harbor Tavern.Lees' Ford Is about 15 min. from Conley Bottom marina.

Rally

We booked our stay today. (March 11th) We are staying at Lee's Ford Marina. Two couples, one boat. Checkmate Enforcer. Driving 11 hours form Wisconsin. I hope there is a big turnout.

Arriving July 14 night and leaving July 20 Morning. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Right now I am having a hard time figuring how much beer to bring. I need a slide rule.

OK! we won't count travel days, that still leaves 5 days on the lake!Good for you!Just take 4 people X 5 days than get your final # than X by 2 and than you might not get into your extra stash that everyone always seems to finded at the end of a trip.

Honestly I will be a camper over at cooley, I was going to come in on Thursday but now I'm thinking Wednesday instead.A lot depends on the other half. But if not wednesday afternoon.1st thing Thursday after setting up camp will be a run east to lee's ford for a drink! merc245:surf: No matter how poor they make thier pours down in B____ town!

Conley Bottom's camping is boater friendly since there are docks just down the hill from every part of the campgrounds. They can accommodate any type of camping arrangement. Conley is in the middle of the lake and right on the main lake.

For those of you with Convincors; we usually find a nice cove and just sleep on the boats. There are many nice places to pitch tents, too, right out in the wilderness. The best times I ever had on Lake Cumberland have been roughing it in the coves.

Barry, I am thinking of buying a fifth-wheel camper. Where would you put it on LC? I would want to leave it set up for most of the season. Any suggestions? Also, docking is a must.

I already told her that I'm going next year, if she wants to come thats fine. She actually thinks this Checkmate "cult" as she calls it is pretty cool, I think she will be down for next year.
Is this event child friendly or adults only?

There is quite a few of us that will act like kids so it has to be child friendly!!!

I am sure that there will be quite a few of us that will bring their kids down. I know Rob (CMPULSE)is bringing his son as well as Mike (MK). If she don't want to come this year, just hog tie her and throw her in the back of the luzacruza:devil::lol:

It will be family friendly for the most part.At Harmon Creek it gets a little crazy but you can raft up with a calmer crew and it's usually not a big deal.

I'm not worried about crazy behavior, that's something that they are used to LOL, just wondering if there would be other kids there.:thumb:

Since We all will be staying at different locations around the lake, Is there going to be a organized location where we all can meet. Like a CM club beach we can take over.

We are bringing our six year old son kind of making a mini family vacation out of the rally. He's love the water so he would probably be mad at his mom and I if we left him home.:sssh: :bounce:
