Checkmate sightings this weekend

I almost bought WILD'THANG 19yrs ago. Before finding the black one.If it wasn't for WILD'THANG and a huge hole cut in the dash for large after market radio. Had a old LAZOR 220 merc at the time.

I live on a fairly small lake south east of Jackson, MI and there are at least 4 Checkmates that I know of on my lake. Amazing how many are around, but I don't know if any are members on here.
I will have to post some pictures

And these two, the one on the right won't start, the other one just tows it around :o we're hoping for an easy fix, just stopped charging, guess that new battery last weekend was a waste of money :brickwall:

New voltage regulator will fix that.

A couple more Mates on the Saginaw River this past weekend. I saw a few others too. There was a nice older 30' Convincor and ZT240.

Pretty clean Predictor

I met up with the Purple 259 (Guy I went to School with) and Brian with the yellow/teal 253 later in the day. I saw a bunch of Checks out Saturday. Also had an older 260ZT anchored near us at State Park. I didn't get pics though. I also launched at the same time as that Starflite.

That one is actually a Starfire.

He pulled up next to me at the gas station. I asked him if it was a Starfire or a senator. He went......uh, its a 350 mercruiser......in uh.....Checkmate.....you know Sterndriver. I said yea, I know. Is it 18' or 20'? He said 18'. So yes Starfire. Thing was rough and so was the owner.

Transom is different between the 2. Senator has small steps on the top of transom both sides and ski eye on top. Starfire has rails that start at swim platform and continue into the boat. Also has different dash.
