checkmate weekend 2013

Is there a local beach or location where we could pull the boats up and we could all camp out... legally

Think that might be hard to find, unless it is a legitimate camp ground that charges. I found some parks and camp grounds with ramps, but your probably not going to be near your boat, or on the beach for the night. ie.

That would be great if we could just pull up on the beach and camp. The only place I can think of that it might be possible is Assateague Island.

But the more I'm reading about assateague, I'm thinking you may only be able to paddle to a camp site, since it is a sanctuary.... Sooooo,,,,,,,,,?

I have two water front sites that im checking on. Ones my uncles and the other a freind of the family. There both on the Patuxent river (southern md). They both have all we need for everyone. Property to park , pier and hotel 10 mins away. I will get a yes or no in the next few days after some talking. There both cottages that have acres of land, ramps and piers. I'll let ya know what i hear back. Hopefully since both were checkmate owners and made me want one theyll understand whats up.

what about a camp site on the water, even if we pay a couple of dollars to throw a tent up. it would give something for kids to do, then at night we could sit around camp fire or something at night.

Bar harbor rv park is a no go. I walk there twice a week to feed the ducks with my son. The water is to shallow up that far in the bush. I cant get my boat in there on high tide and low no one can. The web site also makes it look alot nicer then it is.

Sandy point is basically just a beach, restroom and ramp. It getts really dark there!

Might just be misunderstanding but the Sandy Cove seems a bit to christian based for my partying. lol

I don't know, Satasha is hard to get along with.:D
That's your problem. We value her photographic skills. And absence of body hair. And testicles. That's always a plus.
Now stop whining.:rof:
BTW- What IS this? There were supposed to be SIX boats in this picture shoulder to hip in formation. For Satasha to capture a closeup.

Practice, gentlemen. Practice.

P.S.- You clowns better start working on your formation flying!
Not for me.
It's so Satasha doesn't get pissed.
Again.

Sim I'm gonna be in the next one so start thinking where you want me! You can email me plans if you like.

Sim,
A set up pic doesn't do well in botm. Also you cant vote for your own so we would be out 50% of the voters with the group pic. lol

You're right. I'm wrong. This is definitely a plus.:rof:

It's not YOUR boat that you're voting for. It's the OTHER guys!
I'm tellin' ya, 4 or 8 Checks in front of the Statue of Liberty up on plane. Can't miss.
Hell, it would probably make the NY Times.
