CHECKMATE WEEKEND 2014

I love our get togethers and we are quite flexible; I can almost touch my toes. Sacandaga is an awesome lake and I've been wanting to Check out Raystownso what ever works for the majority is fine with us.

Atc I don't think we will piggy back with the s&f guys but depending I might try and make that event if its not the same weekend like last year. Senator no date set yet just trying to see where we will hold it next year. Raystown has cottages with the marina and hotel which is nice plus we can go cliff diving.

OK. Just throwing it out there as a great location and a great time with dozens of performance boats.

is there a date yet?
No weekend set yet but merc is saying the only weekend he can commit to is the first weekend of June 2014.
(correct, merc?)
He makes excellent coffee, bloody mary's and rumor has it that he has volunteered to set up a childcare center
for the weekend.
Does that work for our designated European representative and is there anyone who feels that date is no good?

No don't set it up depending on me. I just happen the 1st 2 weekends of in June off. If I really need to make any weekend I could trade a day or use a sick day( I only have about a 120 of them in the bank). In the past we had a guy call in sick from Mexico before. Besides my boat is becoming so embarrassing, I have a lot of work before any meet happens. I'll just keep my I eye on this thread! Cheers
p.s. I just had a 2nd date with a 6' rock'en Blonde! :D MEEEERC!

What I did plan and have in back of the truck was a free standing bar (a nice & large screened in dinning room) with perfect mood lighting, table & chairs with color coordinated table cloths, napkins, and cups with pictures for the walls and a sign welcoming everyone to Merc's Place ( unfortunately not neon, but will work on that). Maybe that might be a good place to stick the little ones next time?

I could see it now, No darling you can't go this time, you have to stay here with uncle Merc. Hmmm, I think I can find everyone something fun to do! Shssss - don't tell mommy and daddy, but try this!

Thats good to hear Merc, the girl also. I think later in the month would be better due to weather. The water and air really start to get nice the farther into June. I was surprised we could get in the water last year.

End of June or early July would be best temperature wise, especially in Ocean City. I would volunteer to scout O.C. for ramps and places to stay if we decide to go there.

Anyone still liking Glass House as an option? The water and privacy was definitely a plus.

I'm hearing all the options but I'm really likeing the house ram posted.

And if The prices are whats shown its alot cheaper not haveing to get it for the whole week.

It looks alot nicer then the glass house. The parking won't be an issue, has a pool, large yard, large pier. Its on a piece of water we can all run and still have places to run to for trips. I'm just not a big fan of going somewhere with a large group and haveing a bunch of rules and regulations. I want us all to be able to cut up and carry on with out haveing to worry about disturbing others.

Just my thoughts.

We should look into raystown. I heard it's awesome there. Top five party cove in the u.s.

Here are some of the options
Glass tree house
House on bohemia river
Lbi
Ocean city md
Raystown lake
Cottages on sassafras river

Copy and add more suggestions

The only downfall to Raystown is there's not many destinations to get to by water. You have 2 eateries & marinas. Party cove, the rabbit ears & the cliffs are the big hang out areas. To stay on the lake you either have to go to the resort, get a campsite, rent a houseboat or stay in your boat. Works great for us, but I'm not sure about a group. Hard to please everyone...

Looks nice there . I looked at the site map but was wondering if the resort has boat slips close by. What ever everyone decides Im sure will be a great time running some Checkmates on a hot summer day. :D

Maybe we could rent a houseboat and also get a cabin. We'd have to look into the cost and who would want to captain that houseboat.

We will have a poll up soon. Just trying to see if someone has a new spot that all of us would like to go to. If you have any suggestions throw them on here and we will put them in a poll to vote on.
