Checkmate Weekend Chesapeake Bash 2012

Will someone have a laptop with them? I'll have the gopro and a hard drive to store the footage - just not sure if I need to throw in a laptop to move the files over as well as charging the camera.

I wasn't planning on brining it, but I will. That way if anyone needs to transfer pics/videos we can do it:thumb:

Thanks Ram :thumb: - I only have my work laptop available right now, and for obvious reasons I'd rather not have it in a 21' boat for 2 days messing on the water. :sssh:

One more week fellas:D This time next week, we will be putting a few cold ones down after watching the sun set on a fantastic day of boating with fellow Checkmaters:cheers:

Just went tonight with the wife and picked up some food and booze for the trip. Getting pumped for a great weekend:cheers:

Hopefully the forecast doesn't change:o

I just took some marinated steaks and put them in the freezer to turn into steakcicles. (A few lbs. of filet mignon drowned in soy sauce and fresh garlic for 4 days)
First they will serve as refrigeration aids. Then they will make the ultimate sacrifice on a hot grill.:rof:
Semper Fi(let Mignon)!

Well thought I was going to take the boat looking like crap but asked my brother to buff the boat and he did an amazing job. I tried for a hour or so and it didn't look much better than when I started. He buffed it to the point that you almost can't tell that the paint is shot. It may not be perfect but looks pretty good. Bring on the weekend

Launch Permit

Does anyone know if there are county launch permits required or not ?
We're planning on launching at Sandy Point Park close to the Bay Bridge . Looks about 10 miles south of Gibson Island . Or is there something closer ?

4 more days ,
Steve

Does anyone have an extra 23p or 24p prop they could bring? I would like to try a different prop on my boat, if you wouldn't mind me trying it out. All I have run with is the banged up plane old 23p that came with the boat.

ram, if you want i have a 25p laser 2 that we can yank off mine and try on yours. they work well with light hulls like yours. i will have a prop wrench with me if you want. i have a couple others to try. they are all 25 p maybe a 24 in there but they we will have to do after the event on the river. i might throw my 28's back on to try so its not a problem.

What Ram needs is a 21-23 p 4 blade for hole shot. I've seen his hole shot a few dozen times. I'll see what I can bring too..

Yes, hole shot isn't the best, but I'm getting it figured out - JP height and engine trim. If I can spin a 24, I would like to try that, as well as a 22 or 23p 4-blade. My current prop only has one small vent hole, so that doesn't help the matter much.
