Checkmate's first year for bow riders.

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and a Checkmate owner for 22 years. What a great site, I have found more info about Checkmate's history here during the last 2 months than all the years I have owned my boat. Some interesting characters here too. My Checkmate is a 1973 model TRV17 with a 1995 Mercury115 clamped on the back. I bought it from the original owner in July 1987 when it had it's original motor (1973 Mercury 85 hp) on it. That motor finally died in 1999. This is my first boat and may be my last. I've had a lot of fun and covered thousands of miles of water with this boat. Anyway, I am going to try to post some pics however I'm not a computer wizz so if they don't show this time I'll try again later. http://picasaweb.google.com/Greenmercury115/UntitledAlbum?feat=directlink

Thanks, That's ironic that you mention brochure because I just recently received an original 1974 Checkmate brochure and price list that I won on e-bay. Thanks to Gi-Gi for the lead. Would you believe a TRV 17cost only $2,195.00 back in 1974! And a Jetmate cost $6,095 with a 455 Olds and Jacuzzi unit! I would love to find a 1973 brochure or see one posted on this site.

:welcome: Welcome to the club, and that's a GREAT piece of history you've got there!! :thumb:
