CHECKMATES NEW 43 FOOTER

Staggered! Makes a perfect spot for the generator! I'm with you BR

I was wondering if the cockpit needs to be bigger for some peoples taste?

I've not seen the boat and can only imagine it's big enough, but wondered if BR was not interesed in super big power/big speed that he might want the rear bulkhead moved back for a little more room in the cockpit? I know it ends up being a trade off, the staggered engine layout makes service easier.

I think the staggered 700's are the way to go and if I had Powerball money, that is what I would probably pick for mine.

MSRP $499,000

I'll take 2 ... uh, make that a 1/4 of one.:brickwall:

I knew it would be spendy, but oh boy, I'm never going to ride in one:(, I don't know anyone with that kind of dough.

You got to remember the power package makes up a huge part of the price of these big boats. I'm guessing there is $200k into the motors, drives, and exhaust??? Got to love the Mercury monopoly :brickwall:

I just read that the Sunsation F4 (43) starts at $600,000 and base power is 525's. If that's the case, then the Punisher looks like a bit of a bargain?

Guys that's msrp, I wonder if boats are like cars knock off 30%. Brian I don't think you're too far off on the power package pricing.
All I'm gonna say is I just parked a bunch of dough in a little startup if it pans out I'll take you guys for a ride

jazzy

You buy one and half the site is showing up at your door for a ride!!

Heck, while I'm there, I'll even cheer for your sports teams.:bounce:

Whats the service/rebuild time on the 700SCI? Guy in town has a Nortech with twin 1075's & he mentioned they need to be rebuilt at around the 100 hour mark:eyecrazy:. I know the new 1350/1100's have a 250 hour rebuild time I believe. Honestly I like the boat but at 500K msrp I would look for a used DCB or Cig. Buying a new boat reminds me of buying a new German car, dont do it :rof:. Let someone take the huge hit first.

seems to me this build is catching some unwarranted flack from alot of people.

this hull (as i understand it) is a direct rip of the apache/chief hull. and seriously guys....do yall think that people wouldnt jump at the chance to own a Brand new apache/checkmate? i mean its not liek these guys have started from scratch and are trying to re invent the wheel. they took a tried and true proven race winner and wave pounding monster and built on that....and with checkmates long history of boat building im sure they were able to improve: lighter weight, better power options, better rigging, just an all around improvement based on build techniques and improved materials.

EVERYBODY seems to agree that the apache was and still is the best handling/riding v hull ever built...not the fastest...but the best non the less. hell the old apaches are still goin for well into 6 figures...and thats old and used...re rigged maybe...but still 20+ years old and used.

and if the msrp is 499k i would look for actual sale prices to be 10-15% less at least. nothing sells for retail...and especially in this economy.

just a thought.

Chevy, your are partially correct. The mold used for the Punisher was the Chief/Nutech 43. The only tie to Apache is that Bob Sacente (Apach) originally designed/Marketed the Nutech/Chief boats.

That's incorrect. It is derrived from the 41' Apache hull with the step insert from the 36' Apache and the deck from the 36' Apache.

That boat is awesome and no matter what anyone says about it, its awesome. Thats what it all comes down to. Some people might not like some parts of it. But its awesome! Some people might not like other parts of it, but its awesome. Some people are upset that it does not run a hundred, but thats ok its still awesome!!! Just wait til someone builds a race version with no cabin and 700's and they blow up the offshore circuit with it! Just wait til Jeff takes it on some poker runs and nobody can keep up in rough water except 50 foot cats! The thing is flat out awesome.
Enough said.
