Corvette for Pulsare??

I have a little dilemma going on. A co-worker has an immaculate 2003 Corvette coupe with just under 22,000 miles. It is loaded, 6-speed, chrome wheels, cd changer, HUD… just about every option he could order on it in 03 he did. He also put a new set of Goodyears on it last fall. Well, now this guy wants a boat. A Checkmate Pulsare to be specific. He offered his Corvette to me as an even swap for my 2006 Pulsare 2000BR. The book value on the Vette is about the same as list on a new Pulsare. I never thought I would get rid of my Checkmate unless I was getting another, but I am seriously considering it. What do you guys think?

If you are anything like me, you would rather be on the water with your free time than on the road where I spend 2.5 hours a day getting to and from work! Much nicer people on the water as well! Think hard.

Yes, I have had a couple of them, but not a C5.
So you know how much fun they can be to work on.

I'd rather be on the water. I always seemed to go a little fast in my vettes. People like to sit on them, since they are so low to the ground. Vette guys freak when you want to change something that you can't unbolt and replace with the original item.

People used to think I was nuts for driving mine in the winter. Hey it had anti-lock brakes and traction control. I passed a lot of Cherokee's in the ditch on the way to work.

Even with all that I might trade too.

Then buy bravo1's boat, but only after talking him down another grand or so, just for fun. :D

keep the boat - alot less cops on the water - and you can outrun them all anyway! on the road they will always win - where is the fun in that?

think about it this way. which one can you have an open beer in? which one will can you sit back in the sun with more than one person in? and the obvious one..... the women. well i think i have made my case.

I've managed to get 3 women in my Corvette. Its not as comfortable as in a boat, but its doable.:rof:

I've wanted a Vette since my gas pumping days. A sweetie in a Vette would buy 10 gal. every visit. It was $5.00(for premium) Of course we would see that the windsheild was cleaned very very well. Don't remember the year of that Vette but, it had the fuel fill up on the deck lid. I've wanted one ever since. I'd say I understand your dilema.

Hope no necks got rung Coop. The first time I waited on the our Vette she told me that if I scrached the side of her car or spiiled gas all over it she'd ring my neck!!

Well it is a 6-speed so that's a plus.

I'd hold out and get a Viper instead. If you are patient you can find a killer deal.

I'm talking mid to low 30K range. :)

I've driven a few C5 Corvettes, even a modified Z06 and let me just say that they're not quite the same... That and I see about 15 Corvettes everyday on my way to work.

It's your choice, just think about it and be sure you make the right decision.

Well, my decision became very simple last nigh when I got home from work. My little guy who is almost 5 came running up with a new Overton’s magazine that came in the mail. He was showing me a set of skis that he thought were just his size & telling me how he wants to learn how to water-ski this summer. As much as I would love the Vette I would more than likely spend more time waxing it than driving it.

My wife & kids both love boating as much as I do & I don’t think I could be without a boat. I’ve been boating my whole life and have had a Checkmate of some sort for the last 15 years.

So, no Corvette for now. I still have an old Big Block Chevy sitting the garage I can run through the gears when I get the itch.

My wife’s bikini clad friends also love boating & they wouldn't all fit in the Vette!

those are memories that last a lifetime, good choice - besides your boat is awesome, it couldn't compare to a vette!
