Cracked 80 with my 2400br 300xs

Ran 80.19 the other day with my junk. I have been playing and working kinda hard to do it so it's kinda cool to me. I was light on fuel, but not really load wise. Bow cover on and I took the stuff out of the bow like the mooring cover, tube, and anchor, but left the rest of the stuff in it. It has two batteries, 2 amps and 8 speakers, all the ropes, jackets, paddle, tool box , etc normal boating stuff still in it. I think there is a touch more as the conditions water/wind were not idea, but the air was.

Who needs a 400 when you can run 80 with a 300 that still smokes!!! Its just not the same without that 2 stroke oil smell!!

Nice! Still running late in the year, that's awesome.

My Starflite hit the top speed of the year in the nice cool air here in the Midwest as well two 1/2 weeks ago.

2 strokes luv this stuff :bigthumb: Too bad mine is tucked away for the winter. Today in central, OH, you may have exceeded your best. Perfect conditions.

Congrats!

I'll have one those 24LD's someday...

They are saying 58 Sunday but windy again. I kinda wish it would just get cold so my gearhead mind would give up on the boat.

I only hit a solid 82 mph once & held it for a few secs, maybe I hit a tailwind  I can only get that speed by my self & super light, perfect weather, less than 1/4 tank, 1 battery in boat, all side cushions & seats out, both anchors out & I mean nothing in the boat but me my helmet, jacket & lanyard & my custom bow cover in place, I've yet to try the Hydromotive 5 blade prop that Whipper suggested in my other thread or that 26" Blaster you said but I will soon, I wonder how much lighter your 24BR is against my BRX? You running a Speedmaster style gearcase, nose cone? You definitely have an advantage of less weight & less gearcase drag, nice job 100 hp less same speed, awesome, send me some tips :thumb:

It has a torquemaster on it. I was at the same fuel load as you I guess. I have tried 3 times and every time on the trailer the guage read 1/4 or just under. On the water it read 1/2 then would read 1/4 after running hard for a while. The 80 mph pass was one time and I have a lot of 79.5ish runs going for it. I didn't go to that extrem about taking stuff out though. I would pitch it up if I was you.

Have you Simonized anything on your 300? I have a spare ECU i'll be sending out to him to see if I can get a 25-30 additional hp's, can't have a smoking 300 nipping at my heels  :bigthumb:

Hey Hayabusa, I saw in an earlier post you were talking about sending out an ECU for reprogramming. Was that on the new 400R or a 300xs. Thought you had the 400R on your rig. Was curious if you see this what results you got.

I have a spare ECU for when I was running my Verado 300 Pro & sent it to Simon from Simon Motorsports for some tweaking & an extra 25 hp, worked real good. I'm waiting for Whipple to come out with a tune for my 400R, Simon also works the ECU's for the 300xs as does DBR (Dave Bush Racing) my worked ECU on the 300 gave me more mid range punch & an xtra mph on top end.
