Cracks in my Boat

I have cracks in my fiberglass under my bench seats in the cabin, which go from one side underneath towards the front of the boat and crosses through my sleeping area ( storage) to the other bench seat. Called Checkmate 2 years ago and they said it wasn't in the hull but it was just the shell. It actually goes over the stringers too. My question is has anyone else heard of this problem and would Checkmate take care of this problem. Plus near my motor mounts I am having some cracks too. Maybe have to pull motors to fix that too. Now my dash seems to be swaying back and forth with 2 to 3 ft. chop. I have a ZT 330 1998.

If I remember correctly, the warranty is for 5 years. The warranty is limited to the original owner. So, if you bought the boat used, your out of luck. Did the factory see the damage to this hull? How else can they make such a diagnosis?

I am not the original owner and new about the warranty. The warranty is 10 years and did talk to kip about it. My concern is it takes away the integrity of the whole hull plus was wondering with 98 being the first year for the zt 330 has any other issues happening to other boats owners to be a defect. I am going to take it to a dealer in the spring. They don't make much more than 7,330's a year according to Mike Combs. So with almost 10 years in the making just was wondering if it has happened to any other 330's, With less than 100 of them out there. Plus alot of them are used in lakes not the ocean Where I use mine. Bought mine in mass.

I would be very concerned with all that cracking going on. 1 or 2 cracks maybe not. But if your cracks started at the front and traveled to the back and now the dash is moving around. In 1 more season your boat will look very bad and turn into stress cracks on the outside. It appears your hull is doing alot of flexing.

Does the boat have the orginal gelcoat finish on it.

As you said, there are so few 330's out there. I hope the factory can repair it easily for you. I was unaware that the warranty is for 10 years, I thougt I remember them telling me 5 when I bought mine. Better for all of us your way.

Yes it has the original gelcoat. Boat had 72 hrs on it when I bought it.My brother in law works on baots said its not the stringers that are cracked which is good but just the fiberglass. but you are right about the stress cracks and thats why I am worried. Like I said too they just opened a dealership in my area last year and im going to take it there in march. Thanks for you feedback. I'm really hoping someone else with a 330 sees this topic and gets in touch with me

Vinny when I talked to Kip he had told me he thought the warranty was 10 years . But then he had put me through someone else in that dept and said that even wasn't considered part of the hull. Other than the shell of the boat and it wasn't a big deal. I shouldn't have let it gone 2 yrs. without it being checked because now my dash is swaying. But the warranty issue might be wrong it could be 5.

Too cold to get them but will post them on a warmer day. had some to send to checkmate but P. C. crashed. Going to be 10 degrees tonight in Md.

couldnt help but notice youre selling the boat now, ever find anything out about the cracks? I went for this thread in hopes of asking without warding off potential buyers, plus it was at the top

Yes we had the cracks repaired by Art Lilly. They were in the inner lining of the boat and not in the hull. Had the repairs done last spring. Got it back in July. Boat came out just like new. Ran it from July to Nov .including a poker run from Red Eye to Marly Creek back to red Eyes
