Crazy cavitation

I took the mate out this afternoon for the first time since I installed the J/P. I have the motor just about an inch above were it was before and any time I turn the wheel at all even an inch when on plan the prop starts to cav. or slip a lot. What is causing this? the prop is well under the pad (3 or 4 inches). The faster I go the worse it gets.:confused:

Could it be the Hub that's slipping ?

do you have a non-surface type prop? The higher you go the more you need a surfacing prop, I have chopper prop which is one of the best surface props and even it blows out at a certain point.
 
Man I wish I new more about props. I am running a 3-blade ballistic
The hub is good. Maybe I just need to lower it down all the way.
 
Tie a rope to the 3 blade Ballistic and use it for an anchor! You need a prop with more rake and more cup to keep it's bite and still lift at higher engine heights. Just my opinion. boatman :cheers
 
The Ballistic prop is not a good surfacing prop. However, buried they work very well. They spool up quickly and will give you good top end, but slip as they surface. They'll run best around 4 1/2" or 5" below pad.
Once you start cranking up the engine height you need to look elsewhere.
