Do you think I'm crazy

MX-13

Member
If I ever find an mx-13 again, I'm gonna put my 3cycl 85 on it. Do you think the thing will float? I bet it will be a fun ride

I think the weight on the back would more scarey than the ride. Just drive it with good sense and respect on the top end and watch for the backwash when you're stopping.
Sounds like lots of fun...

Nope not crazy, 13' boat with a 3cyl. 16' boat with a 6cyl. Should be about the same. Just use your head when playing.

Hello Checkmate gang,

This is my first post.

I know this is an old thread, but having owned two mx-13's I can shed some light.

My second one had a 6 cylinder mercury on the back. When I put it in the water, the transom was just under the surface of the water.

Sick...

MX, when I get around to doing my V-131 this summer, popping the deck off, recore the right way, maybe transom, knees and stringers I plan on dropping an I6 on it. Maybe a pad since it needs bottom work anyway, its gonna be a WIIILD ride

by the way, that 85 isnt any higher displacement than the 65 you had on your last mx13 is it??

I ened up with a 13' delta, and put the 85 on that. I liked the more updated hull. It sank

hahaha But I got her going again and now its all good. DOn't know about displacement, it weighs more then my 65 did though

Chris, Im lookin for info on the mx 13s. I just bought one for 300.00 and have it apart. Im planning to hang a v4 140 on it and am wondering if you have any pics of your old boats you can send me. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

The only pics I have of the MX's are all posted in the showroom.

If you check over at the Hydrostream registry, they have a few old Mate brochures posted that I don't have though. You could try looking over there.
