Does anyone know this boat?

I picked up this 87 enforcer yesterday from eastern NC, the gel is faded pretty bad but the interior is in good condition, seems to run good, and it only has 270 hours on it. There is a dealer sticker on the back from Southern Maryland Marine and I found this old listing from a dealer in Conn. http://www.seaboardmarina.com/24_checkmate/

If anyone has any info on it please share, looks to be an oddball paint scheme

what info are you looking for? if you call checkmate (and they answer) they may still have a recorder of when it was built and were it was original sold.

Got to check this out in person today. The boat is really nice for the money and will look wonderful with a little time.

I went to see that boat on my way to see the persuader i have now. And I almost decided to go for it but it just need too much work for me to devote to yet another project right now.It killed me to pass up on her because I saw what she can be. What I saw was a rough boat but with the right amount of time and money she will be a bad azz old school checkmate. I focused on the gel when I saw her and its pretty bad. But I am pretty certain with the right among of wet sanding and polish you may get away with bring her back instead of painting which would have been my last resort. Good luck with her she has a lot of potential..........Rich :thumb: Keep us all appraised.

The OP is they guy I went with to look at your current boat. Be sure to post a bunch of pictures to rub it in! haha:bigthumb:

I think it will shine up as well. The only issue is a few spots where you can feel the flake... right below the windshield.

Dude believe me, if that enforcer didn't need so much work I would of gone for it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind doing the work. But with my schedule I would not be able to see water till next year at least cause I would have done a complete resto on that . Mine needed a lot of work too but it doesn't need a ground up resto. I am a little jealous though because an enforcer with a bb is what I really wanted. I hope he doesn't have to paint it I love the colors. I wish the owner the best of luck with her she is a nice boat. A diamond in the rough......rich

Just got in from the river, ran perfect with no issues. Just needs a little more cleaning and buffing and it'll be good through the summer. If the gel doesn't come back ill end up painting it this winter.

rob, I'll have the boat at my shop all week probably if you want to come check it out. It's right behind Jamison's corvette on Ashley phosphate. I'm usually there from 9-6

It was from Williamston, NC; right? If that's the one, I've seen it on CL for the past year, always curious as to how good it was. Another CM sold out of Washington, NC (about 25 miles S of Willimastion) last month, name on back was Miss Brenda in case anyone here bought it.
