drive showers

I would never run a boat without a drive shower. Personally, I prefer Imcos' shower. But, I am sure that they all do the job well.

I installed a Simrek (driveshowers.com) Halo Deluxe on my Senator this past spring , what a differance , no more white chalk and the drive is definately cooler .

I installed a Simrek this spring also. It works GREAT! It dumps so much water on my outdrive that it still looks brand new, no white mineral deposits. I've got an alpa drive, so I called and got the Super Summit.

I'm an outboard guy so, help me out here fellas. Does this drive shower thingy have a hot water option? And also, does it come with a soap holder?

Use lime away type bath tub cleaners. That and some polishing compound will make it look better. That drive was definetly getting hot if you have those deposits on there.

I'm sure it'll like the shower!

You generally get corrosion in salt water. What happens with high horsepowered Alpha drives sometimes is that they get so hot that when the water hits the upper gearcase it boils the water off, leaving only the mineral deposits.

Did you guys buy that drive shower on ebay?? There is a simrek for $65...and the simrek site is double that...I wondered if it was the same thing. Is it an easy installation??

It's an easy installation IF: It's really a Simrec shower and not an imitation, AND it comes in the original sealed box with the instruction sheet that contains templates for the holes you need to drill into your cavitation plate.
