easiest way to lift back end of smaller i/o (diplomat)

I have a 2 ton shop crane and would like to lift the back of the boat with it in order to shoot an even coat of paint on the running surface. Note that I'm not stupid enough to crawl under it without having a "fall back" as in a set of timbers spaced on blocks below it that would catch it if for some unfortunate reason something went wrong. Just looking for te easiest way to pick up as much of it as once as possible. Could I use a load leveler and chain to pick it up by the rear of the engine perhaps? it's a smallblock so the engine is by far the heaviest part of the whole thing. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Thanks guys, I know the transom is solid (Took core samples a while back and have been anal about sealing things, but at the same time i wondered if the eyes were meant to lift the boat with the engine and drive set up in place. although it could be repaired if I ripped one (or both out) it would still suck... and I did worry about the motor mounds if lifting by the engine mount and transom assembly, but just wanted to think it through a bit...
