I tried searching for days on this subject, but have not been able to find any good info on it so here it goes. Does anyone know what is the perfect set back to run on a 18' eluder outboard? I have a mildly hopped fresh 235 evinrude x-flow with a 5in hydraulic jack-plate with 5.5in of set-back( the bullet is approx 2in below the pad when jacked up all the way and neutral trim). It has a nose cone on it now that has a bullet that looks like an older merc ssm lower, but I may be switching it to a bobs cone with lwp soon. It has a 20in mid. If nobody has any ideas, then how can you tell if the boat needs more or less setback by driving it? Thanks tons in advance for your help.
