ENCHANTER STEERING CABLE QUESTION

Usually the length of the cable is stamped into motor end of the cable. It appears at the end of the part # as the last 2 digits of the 6-7 code/part #. However aging may have worn the # off after being in the elements and you can no longer read it.

If this is the case...Measure from the center of the motor to the corner of the boat...to the edge of the windshield/steering helm area where the cable makes it next turn...to the center of the steering wheel. ( in other words a "U "shape laying on the drivers side of the boat is what you are measuring for) This should give you the length.

And if all else fails....Pull the old one out and take it to the dealer. He'll lay it next to the correct size new one. That's what we used to have to do.

THANKS BUT MY BOAT IS 265 MILES AWAY I WAS HOPING SOMEONE HERE WOULD KNOW.

if youre gonna steer it from there thats a long cable!!

since you cant get to it i would call checkmate, they may have it on file. i have a 24' enforcer i/o and it is 15'6" - stamped onto the cable as prev post said. not very helpful but a general idea. it was also dated - its the original cable housing!!!
