Enchanter test n tune

Good looking boat. Looks even better without the duct tape:D. If you have those gears in that lower your not gonna see the mph you would see with 1.87 gears. I have a 200 on my exciter and it will do 74 on gps. My boats lighter thn yours but you should be in the 60's without a problem.

I'm pretty aware of that, and the heated debate that ran over gear ratios...with the general concensus being higher gears would give more torque and let you swing a bigger wheel, and lower gears would give more prop shaft spped etc....I'm just more interested in seeing what the engine will do NOW with full air! LOL! THEN I'll play with props ( and maybe gears- have a line on a bobs lwp lower - 1.87 gears )

I noticed you still have the oil injection installed. AND you are premixing. You need to purchase the $15 kit to block off all the unused openings after you remove the oil injection system.

You could be pulling air from one of these locations and not getting the propper fuel.

I have wondered about removing the injection system- it has been disabled, since before I got it- where do I get the kit? Interested in giving it a cleaner look under her hat also....

What's West Virginia chrome? Not familiar with that phrase...lol.

Duct Tape....

west virginia can be replaced with any local redneck town or area....

Up north we have to get an annual inspection sticker on our cars and you can't have any rust holes in the fenders... so some folks use duct tape and then paint primer over it...sweet huh?

Redneck chrome

Slang term for duct tape, specifically applied to make stuff look like it was chromed (such as cars.) it is extremely cheap and easy to get, and non toxic, unlike real chrome, rednecks always have a few dozen rolls of it in the shed (or truck.) It can be used to dress up your house, car, head, or cat.

OK, so found the oil injection removal kit through Reynolds racing and ordered it- "eliminate all potential problems"! Also- REMOVED the "WV chrome" from the one side of the intake= let 'er breathe!, and put in for a week of vacation Labor Day weekend- APROVED! SO there will be ALOT of testing going on then- but I will NOT be waiting till then to get her wet- rest assured! Won't be able to run this weekend- but planning on next weekend- inquiring minds want to know IF the "WV Chrome" removal makes the kind of difference I believe it will! HOPE I'm hunting a 26" prop next month! LOL! Haven't measured to be sure- but it "looks" like I'm @ 4" below the pad right now- had awesome control there at the end of the last outting- so I'll leave her there till I see what happens next trip out. Will probably have to go up- but I'll see what I'm getting for speed and rpm's first. Should have my oil injection kit next week- so maybe that will help also..... can't hurt me! Till next time, boyz n gurlz......

Hey sorry I did not see this post. But I have an 84 Enchanter with a 1984 Black Max 200. I just recently purchased the boat with a blown motor and had Cary's Mobile Marine rebuild the motor. It was ported, polished, a cross flow intake added, Chris Carson reeds and of course re-jetting. I am still mixing oil at 32:1, I have a CMC Manual 5-1/2" setback jackplate and I am turning a 25 pitch Trophy at 6000 RPM and have hit 70 on the GPS. I have tried a 26 LaserII and could quite stop it from spinning and also lost a lot of bow lift which seems crucial with this haul. I am going to try other props so I will let you know what happens.

I have been working like a one legged man in an ass-kicking contest- so I haven't had any time to take out my baby- or test her- but hoping to this comming weekend! I am anxious to see if letting air into the motor will make a difference! LOL! I REALLY want to bang 6k on the tack - or more- and see my numbers up where yours are at!!!!! Thanx for the info/ reply! You only make me want to get 'er wet even more!!!! LOL!!!!

ok, so after a long hiatus and many many days of sitting at a buddys house to find the problem.... no matter what could just not get it above @ 45-4800 rpms and speed was slowly going down, from 54 best to 47 best. I knew the carbs were needing ccleaning, and that something else was rotten in the world of Enchanter.....without any further delay.......STATOR! high side was shutting down when warm. changed and tested ......
2 people, full 32 gal. tank, coolers, grill, gear, etc....HEAVY....... screaming up like a banshee only look I got before slowing down was @ 5k and 64mph with ALOT of throtle left! my hydrulic steering ( I found out- thus the reason why I slowed down so quickly!) had air in the system and started a zig zag that would prevent you from driving a BB up my ass with a sledge hammer, began! My 24 turbo is WAAAAY too small for this motor! I'm gonna need a 26 I believe, and new O rings to seal up the helm of the steering, so I can see where she will go! I do believe it will be solid low 70's! I will update again when I get the steering fixed.

Dave, I was wondering where you have been! Glad your getting it dialed in! You going to make it up to the rally this year on the 23rd? I would love to see another enchanter showing some of these guys whats up!!!

Oh yea, nice pic...... shame all that child labor was used to put it together. She should rip it off and throw it on the sand in discuss;)!!

Thanx guys. I'll just keep trying to dial it in for the wife- she's a bigger speed freak than me! LOL! Gotta get the steering tightened up/ bled so all the testing will be SAFE!
