Engine hatch actuator

what is the leangth and stroke of the engine hatch actuator on a 1990 Maxxum 229? Mine is missing. Previous owner(s) replaced it with a Manual rod that you have to put a pin in to hold it up.

I'm not sure the length of your actuator but I went to Acculift with my froze up model. They are in Melvindale Mi. and they could set you up with an original equipment like is on my 283. They rebuilt mine while I went and had lunch at a restaurant down the steet . They are just a little hole in the wall company but extreme customer service and been in business a very long time. They also supply all the newer steering wheels for most boat manufactures also. I think they only charged me about $110 including the new motor they installed. If the original brackets are there you could open the hatch and give them some measurements.

From what I was told, the thro is 21". This from the guy who took the one off my 229 before giving me the boat.

Emailed Checkmate and they told me the stroke was 16" and they said it was a Lenco 1600. Lenco makes two different ones. one is 27" closed and the other is 31" closed.

I'm seeing 29 and 33 closed. Do you have the mounting holes still there? Can you hold up the hatch and measure them? The rise on the 1600's are 45 and 49". if no holes just measure where you want the hatch to be and get one close. They stop where ever you lift off the switch so its all adjustable.
