FADED PULSE 186 BLACK?

WHISKEY3

New member
Just bought a 90 Pulse 186 with a black deck. The years and sun have done a number on it, the rest of the boat is mint. what's my best option to bring the color back? Ive tried polishing with M3 Marine compound. It helped, but no where near where it needs to be. Any suggestions?

Here you go whiskey, my Pulse 170 is black. I've got before and after pictures. http://checkmate-boats.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13528

aquabuff, mine was pretty bad in some spots, so I did a quick once over with some wetsanding, easy to do by hand, get some 800 or 1000 grit paper at your local auto store, and get a bucket of water and keep it wet and just sand over everything lightly I wrapped the paper over one of those spongy sanding blocks, this is something you wont want to overdo. Then hit it with the aquabuff and some wax, itll come out awesome and wont cost much, just some time and elbow grease.

Thanks cmpulse170. Wet sanding; is it something I can do my self by hand?
Yes. You can either use a bucket or the water hose. I personally use the water hose, it helps keep the gelcoat clean as you watersand. The second thing is don't sand in one place to long keep moving and use the palm of your hand not the fingertips. The gelcoat should feel smooth when you're finished watersanding. Hope this helps.
