Fantasy F-13 w/ 40HP vs. 55HP

How much of a difference in hole shot and top end will there be if I trade my 40HP Force outboard for a 55HP outboard?

I know a guy who is looking for a 40HP and is willing got trade me his 55HP for it.

Worth the hassle? Right now my engine is all unbolted anyways, just have to deal with the cables...

Top end in my boat with the 40HP is 34MPH, hole shot sucks because it acts as though it gets bogged down a bit. Once up on plane it scoots along nicely.

Thanks!

Now you are talking! If the Yamaha checks out, take it. A Yammie is twice the motor a Force is. If I remember correctly the 55 is only 2 cylinders and will not add any more weight to your little rig. If the motor is still strong it should translate into way more hole shot and top end.

Thanks Mark,

Glad to hear it

Supposedly the guy wants a smaller engine to reduce his weight, but I doubt mine is much lighter (I won't tell him that).

I'll post a follow up when I find out more info on the engine. Maybe I can make the trade tonight if I'm lucky. Just gotta get my boat back in shape to fire up the engine for the guy to look at....

If he has power trim / tilt it will be the ultimate steal I think. I dont have it right now, but would love to have it.....
