Few Pics From 5 Days Up In Paradise

Its been close to ten years since I been up north with a boat, But finally spent 5 days at a marina in Elk Rapids MI on the Grand Traverse Bay,

I went up early looking like Fred Sanford, with all the equipment for an art show on Saturday my girlfriend was chosen to participate in. She followed on Friday once school let out.

The marina was Top Notch, 35 bucks a night, I'd pull to my slip to find 3 college kids waiting to help (almost embarrassing)

On Saturday had her set up and back on the water by 11 am / off by 4 pm to help tear down of course :(

And the real reason I was there! The Water! The finest in the world in my opinion! Here's the stern anchor at 10ft.

I forgot to add my new mantra:

"You know your getting old when, when while on vacation, in the morning, instead of reaching for the aspirin, your reaching for walking shoes!" :o

Great pixs, Merc! It's beautiful up there in Traverse City. Did you look up Ross when you were up there?

The Traverse City area is without a doubt my favorite area of the country and I travel 20-25 weeks a year all over the country! I am heading up to Crystal Lake next week for a long weekend with the family... My favorite lake on earth, same as where you were. I love being able to see the snails on rocks in 15 feet of water!

My aunt has a house on the bay directly across from Elk rapids. Best thing about that water is it doesn't stain or leave any water spots.

I need to get back up there.

The woman I'm dating spent her early years on Crystal Lake 5-14 yrs old. Just spent the weekend at her childhood home on Crystal Lake, as it was turned into a B&B in the 90's. :thumb: not sure but I think you mean Zebra Mussels on the rocks a 15 ft down.
