Finally finished my Convincor! Maiden voyage!

A 28p B-1 prop seems a bit big to me on 500-550 horse unless you have some heavy heavy torque numbers.. A freind of mine running a mate with 620hp and 650 fp of torque is only running a 26p B-1. My engine is around 525-550hp and 600 fp of torque and I am running a 24p B-1. On good chop I can turn between 5800-6000 rpms. My engine is good for 6000.

I would like to get a 26p cut down to a 25p and then have it labbed.

The thing runs good as i is, I think I may be able to get 80mph out of it by 5200. Its gona peter out round there anyway. Its probably closer to 600 maybe a bit more.

I took it back out Sunday, 2 people and full tank of fuel 72mph gps at 4800, seems as if that is a lot of prop slip to me and it actually may be getting worse. It is cavitating terribly after it initially planes off, to the point of having to pull the throttle way back to get it to hook.
Pulled the prop off and took it to the local prop shop. The guy said the cup was worn out of it. They are going to recondition it, put the cup back in it and he said they could safely get 1" of pitch out of it. Thanks for the advice and I'll let you guys know how it works out after this weekend!

Got the prop back and on the boat, took it out Saturday with 2 people and a full tank of fuel 73mph gps at 4900. The cam is a .600 lift on a 112 lobe sep with duration @ .050 of 227 I and 235 E. I'd like to get this thing up to about 5200-5300. The current prop is a Bravo 4 blade (now 27P) with a decent amount of cup in it. What is the rule of thumb for rpm increase? should I look for a 25p? Ran it wide open for 14 mins with no issues whatsoever, I'd like to put the boost up around 6# but not looking to hurt it. There has to be a couple more MPH in it!

I would borrow a 26p Bravo 1 and try it. Most of the time when you have a prop labbed its good for 200 more rpms

Should I look for a labbed 4 blade 26?

I would try that if you can find one. Thats a popular prop but yet again thats a easy one to resell. I do not think Bravo makes a 4 blade 25p. You would have to redo a 26p.

But if you do get a 25p labbed bravo 1 4 blade I would sure like to try it. I just hate spending all that money and it don,t work.
