Finally my new trailer

Well I searched all summer for a nice USED trailer for my beloved Checkmate and found nothing really worth buying --- I did look at quite a few but nothing in perfect condition and I didn't want to start a trailer restoration :shakehead:

So I broke down and ordered a brand new custom dual axle aluminum, LED lighted, mag wheeled, anti lock brake and reverse brake actuated Venture bunk trailer.
It took awhile to get here but it finally showed up yesterday and I had the dealer adjust the bunks and actuator and winch post then sit the boat on its new resting place.
I couldn't be happier with the trailer and I can now sleep better at night knowing my hull isn't sittin on those frikin rollers of the old trailer anymore.

I also updated the dash a little by installing a nice lighted compass and added the Vision 22 lettering under the radio.

And finally finished the engine compartment.
You can literally eat off the floor in there :D

Next Saturday I'll be towing her to NC --- her new home :bounce:

Thankyou so much my friend, I do try to put quality and class into every little detail.
I have just a couple more minor things to do before I call this project finished and I put her in the water next spring.
I suppose I should also start focusing on a nice matching rig to pull her with but I'm running out of money :o

$3200 --- she has a 4800 lb capacity and will fit upto a 24 ft craft.

The bare bones trailer was $2800, then with the added options of LED lights and mag wheels and the charge from the dealer to set the bunks and winch post to my hull brought the price to 3200.

It took a long time for me to justify spending that kind of money on a new trailer, but now I realize how much it's worth having a quality trailer.
Having the great breaking system is awesome and being able to come down the highway at 70mph without any sway and bounce sure is priceless.
 
Kurt, your boat and trailer looks absolutely amazing.
Its like this boat should be in the Smithsonian Institute, and all the red
accents you've taken the time and money to add was well worth it, really
sets the whole package off.
I also see you haven't messed with the voodoo gods and changed the
name yet.
 
She's a beaut Kurt!! That looks like pretty much the same basic trailer i have under my Enforcer. I will agree that when set up will it tows great!! My only complaint so far is that they use little plastic stick on plates to hold all of the wiring to the inside of the frame and mine are all falling off almost faster than i can find them to replace them.. Easy fix tho!!

Both would probably work better than what i have been doing.. I just clean the frame off and stick them back on with a bit of super glue.. Mine has been towed thru winter on frozen salty roads a few to many times and i need to spend a day with the boat off of it cleaning it up in the places i wasnt able to get rinsed off so well at the spray n wash..

Decided to not screw with the deities of all that is water --- I'm from the waters of New England, namely the Gloucester and Salem areas where everybody takes this stuff real seriously -- them there gods of the seas and waterways get pissed real easily :eyecrazy:

Thanks Ron, I enjoyed following your efi build thread so much I can't wait to get going on an engine build thread myself, although, I won't be pursuing bigger HP or displacement, just want to build {rebuild} the original 350 carbed mag back to completely brand new with lots and lots of shiny bling

I find it interesting that most trailer manufacturers really really don't put a super high degree of craftsmanship and quality into their products.
They can make them look sweet with the shiny wheels and little led lites all around them and the diamond plate style fenders, but when you get right down to the nuts and bolts, they're pretty much just slapped together without much attention to detail and quality.

As you can see, Kieth4216 came up with the link for you {thanks Keith4216} --- that build thread is not really finished yet, I'll be adding some more changes in the spring before she gets wet.
I've already identified a couple of things I did that I'm just not completely happy with, so a couple of design changes in the works,
My God this really is an obsession :rof:
