I have been primarily a Four Winns owner. I am now looking to buy a 1991 Diplomat with the rare white/teal.pink color combo and a I/O 205hp v6 w/ aprox 400 hrs.

What is this boat worth and what do i need to look out for?

What are some good maintnance things to do once i get the boat?

welcome tanzi ! i owned a 1987 Diplomat with a 2005 4.3 mercruiser 220hp. it was a great boat and handled very well. wish i would have kept it for my step son. i can't say how much the one you are looking at is worth. there are too many variables. no different then checking out any other boat. solid floor? good compression? tight drive, hull clean? etc etc. pictures would help. got any?

:welcome:

agreed with above, if its in real nice shape its worth a lot more than if the floor is soft and the gelcoat is nasty and all scratched up. Best bet is to give it a real good once over, looking for any soft/rotted wood, especially in the floor and seats/seatbacks, plus any other indicators on how well the boat was cared for, trailer condition, general cleanliness etc. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

The boat was my uncles and he is delivering it in June.

I am very familiar with the boat and its in great shape, just about mint. It also has a custom trailer to go along with it.

I hear its a very rare special order color combo, can anyone varify this?

best thing to do is get the hull # from your uncle and call kip at checkmate. he will tell you everything about the boat

The boat is getting delivered next weekend. I will post pictures as soon as i get a chance.

Any ideas on the ideal prop?
