First Speed boat!!!!

Thanks for chiming in, as I said I'm no expert. Sorry for any miss info. I just know that I'm running a 23 p and get a speedo, not a GPS, reading of about 60 mph. I'll definitely have to pay closer attention to my tach next time. I also agree with the trimming aspect as if you're plowing water with the bow you're adding a lot of drag. Jim

Thanks for the info fever! The only thing is I don't know what type of prop I have so the 19 is a guess.

No problem man! Ok, i must have missed the part about 19p being a guess. Usually the prop will have the pitch and sometimes the dia. stamped right on the hub (bellow one of the ears basically). Yeah, there is a possibility you are over propped, but at 4000rpm you should be into the mid 50's mph range even if the prop is to big. No, i am absolutely not an expert either, i'm just going by my own experience with my boat which has similar power. I once tried a bigger dia. 23p on mine and could barely get the tach to 4000rpm, but the GPS still read 59-60mph. (this is all provided my tach, or yours, are accurate!)
