First test run, broke 60!!

Hey Tony I am not positive way your boat dose that but I think that some more setback would help you. It will give your prop cleaner water and you wont have to use as much trim. I have some 2" bobs spacers I'll give ya.

Check16-

You said earlier that it pulled hard to the left when you got above 2.5"... did this happen when you were already at speed, or still gaining? Have you been in a boat before that chine walked as something to compare to?

Plugging water intake holes

I had a thread on it a long time ago. What I did was get some stainless threaded plugs from lowes (i forget the size). Taped the top three holes on each side and screwed in the plugs with lock-tite. I have the old style 8-hole l/w and can now run up to -1" with good water psi.
I'll see if I can find a pic.
btw, you have one strong 115. My 115V4 would only run a 22P to 5400rpm.
If you ever remember what size plugs those are let me know please.

Thanks again for the Bob's convertible recommendation... that helps takeoff a lot- I can't stand it up on end anymore... but it still gets on top of the water pretty quick with the 26.

I did talk to Teleflex and they're sending me a new pivot plate that will hopefully fix the problem with my steering kit. So who wants to do some boating in October???

Well if I was running at higher speeds I mite consider it lol . But you guys would pull right away from me no prob lol . I get 55 mph with the 150 but like to cruise right about 40 mph

Before the jackplate I was running 54 with all these guys, you'd be just fine. You could always get a plate! :thumb:

I thought about a plate . But if I get one it wouldnt be till late winter or early spring . I still have that bigger prop I could run for alittle more speed but I dont like the way it gets out of the hole with bigger prop . Really seemed to lug . Top end was nice tho .

It happens at about 55 while still gaining speed.
This is definitely not chine walk the jack plate eliminated that.:)

I think illMATTic and 83 Predictor are on to something with more set back.

I grew up in Glastron's.The last one being a 15' with a 235 Johnson on the back.
This is the first boat I've owned that has a pad style hull so I'm still learning.

I went and looked at my local hardware store (ACO) and couldn't find any hex head stainless screws. You did basically use set screws, right??

Where did you get em?
