Found a Predictor

Ok, now I could use some help. There's an ad on ebay for an 82 Checkmate Predictor with a blown 115. From the pics provided the boat looks to be in really good condition. Comes with a trailer, interior looks good, says a few nicks and scratches. I sent him a message asking him about the hull and floor, whether or not it was stored inside or atleast under a cover and for more pics. His buy it now price is $650 which is way under the average $1070 according to NADA which is generally low on boat prices. What do you guys think?

Hard to go wrong for that price. Outside looks real good. Even if there is a bit of rot, its not that bad of a job to fix. See if you can get some pictures of the interior and rear of the transom (top) look for stress cracks in the gell. Not a big deal if they are small, If they are big it will let water into the transom.

I think it is a steal! That's what a trailer alone would cost you. I'd still ask him about the transom, floor, etc. though so you know what you are getting into.

Looks like a steal to me even if it needs some work. I know one thing for sure, that MASSIVE sterring wheel has got to go.

$650 is a steal if it is in good shape. i paid $1300 for mine and the floor needed repair and the Lower unit and trim pump were bad . but the transom is solid and the engine has a new powerhead on it with 1 season of use. Mine is the same color and interior as the picture under my name I will atemp to upload some pics of my camera later today.

It looks like it is well worth the money. Buy it quick, I can go pick it up for you and keep it here until you can make the trip to get it.

Hurry before I buy it myself.

Id just pay the buy it now price before anyone else does. As far as nada values and boats ive always found that you can throw those guesses out the window(unless your financing it). Seems like a steal to me! Aaron

Well, went ahead and bought the boat for the buy it now price. Awaiting payment information right now. Thank you guys for all your insight. For $650.00 I didn't think that I could go too wrong even if it requires a little bit of work. I've seen alot worse going for alot more.

Cooper, thanks for the offer. I'll talk to the seller first and see what kind of arrangements can be made and then let you know.

I think you got a very good deal!
I paid $3000.
Had to put $500 into the motor the first year.
Replaced the seats the next year.
This year had to replace the floor.
If you can do most of the work yourself, you will be in great shape.

Good Luck!
Nice looking Predictor!!

I'm glad you bought it, cause I was ready to pull the trigger. Send me a PM when you get some arrangements made.
