FS: N.O.S. Mercury I-6 115HP complete powerhead

L115

New member
This may be the only one in existance in the world!

I have an in-line 6 BRAND NEW FACTORY replacement 99.9 cubic inch powerhead for a 90-115HP classic Merc. It is NOT remanufactured, rebuilt or anything like that. It is a brand new, never used, never installed, block and powerhead assembly, including crank, pistons and all side covers, etc. It is for a distributor engine, which means 1979 or earlier, perhaps up to 1971. IT IS *NOT* A PORTED PISTON POWERHEAD, which were used for the 150'S AND 140'S 1973-1979. Nor is it an A.D.I. engine, 1980-1988

It is stamped manufactured in Fond du Lac in June of 1989, and sent to a Mercury dealer for a job. Their customer backed out and many years later I was able to buy the powerhead from them as a spare for one of my engines. They were not able to tell me the exact engine it was meant for, but indicated most likely 1978-1979 model years. I no longer have a need for this powerhead.

The engine is well oiled, totally corrosion free, and has been kept in a climate controlled environment since being manufactured. It has the factory matte black paint being used in that era.

Detailed photos to follow.

$2900 with free shipping.

I bought it from my Mercury dealer 8 years ago. These powerhead assemblies are no longer in production by Mercury, not even on a re-manufactured basis. When they were last producing these new ones, many years ago, I am told the factory price was $4100.

I have carefully gone over all of the mumbers on the powerhead assembly components, found that the block is stamped part # 7401, which from the Crowley Marine website, is for any 1973-1979 115HP engine.
