Got the Eluder Fixed!

Well, I finally got my Eluder fixed. IT was surging and bogging down and for the longest time, I thought it was a fuel problem.... Turns out it was a bad stator and a few other electrical problems. Anyways, it runs awesome now!

Today we took it out on Lake Amistad and GPS'ed it at 63 MPH. Not too shabby for an open bow Eluder :)

'87 Merc BlackMax 200. That is one angry $%@# motor! I freakin love it. It is freakin loud, smelly, and pulls like crazy. Did I mention it is loud? It was turing 6000 rpm like it was nothin this past weekend.

I thought I had some pics from down here in Del Rio... I gotta dig them up!

amistad

how is amistad for skiing we keep thinking of coming down there

5 to 6 hours from houston

i looked at some house boats for rent a couple of years ago

are there any campgrounds with cabins with a/c?

daren

is the water still as clear as 4 of 5 years ago

It is great for skiing. It has clean water, and there are some really nice coves with calm water. The house boats look fun. My pilot training class was thinking of renting one :) I can't vouch for any of the campground. I know there are a bunch, but I dunno if any have a/c equiped cabins. If you are military, I think our Air Force marina might have a few. It is incredibly clear. I have only been here a few months so I dunno if it is as clear as 5 years ago. It has been a little less clear lately due to all the rain. As far as amenities, it is pretty weak though. There is the Air Force marina, but I dunno if it is open to the public. There is the Diablo East Marina that is ok, and then a really dumpy one on the north side of the lake. There are a few motels geared towards fishermen too. It is nothing like Lake Travis or Horseshoe bay. It is a littl emore rustic lol. But it is a huge, clean lake. It has the best bass fishing in the world so keep that in mind. Oh, and since it is large, we can get some pretty hellacious chop on windy days.
