GPS Speedometer Recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a GPS Speedometer? Looking to replace the standard speedo and have seen offerings from Livorsi Marine, Autometer and others.

At a glance, most look about the same, interested in any feedback (positive or negative) folks may have with their GPS Models.

I have used the Nordskog and Intellitronics which I think are the same. They are a nice piece. I am a dealer for Nordskog. There's comes in a kit with the speedometer, gps receiver, and toggle switch. Easy to install and very accurate. boatman

I have a brand new black Gaffrig digital GPS head. Still in the sealed box for $200. This has the digital readout and also shows tach reading, compass heading, volt readout, and speed recall in tenths of mph. Looks just like this one, but in black.

smile meter

tell ya wut fellow speed boaters. i dont know wut your gps reads, but my garmon is fast and slow. according to spoken speeds around my world of half a dozen checks, the spoken word is waaaaaaaaaaaaay different that the gps. one things for sure, my garmon handheld has save my life in the fog, and that day garmon was flying with me and the captain, he must have lied or a sattelite ran out of gas. im the slowest around here, cause nobody will race me. these boys got 21' checks that surpass 90mph, yet i can leave them behind and garmon says im low to mid 70s. at the same time im leaving them, we need a meter to measure from the corner of our mouth to our ear. shortest distance wins, cause ive seen my garmon not catch up to that one and only perfect condition- right whiskey, right wind, right chop. according to garmons in my area, they dot work or everybodys got dead batteries, but im not afraid to get beat by a gps, cause ive got a small motor, hahaha.

The 124.4 was run on the boat in my avatar. Much cooler to show to people back at the dock!

I have taken 2 different digital gps speedo's and hooked them up with a cig. lighter plug, and then went for a ride with the local police to watch them side by side with the radar screen. Never more than .2 difference. 1 of those I also checked with a Stalker gun down on Lake Murray S.C with the same results. Tha is a good deal on the one that Wildman has. But if you need a white one, let me know. The Nordskog has the same features and comes with the gps receiver ant. for around $375. I would have to call and get the exact price. They also have a matching digital tach. for those of you who like to look at both at the same time. boatman
