Happier than a speckled pup - Love the Trimate III

:drool:Maiden voyage with our 'new' old 1977 Trimate III 19 1/2'. With a CMC hydro jackplate and 200 Merc running 2:1 gears it spun a 24 Turbo to 6200 RPM. This hull is faster than my 17 1/2 foot Glastron was by over 200 RPM. The Glastron touched 60 by the GPS at 6000 barely. Can't find the power cord for the GPS so I don't know how fast I really was going but I would guess 62 'ish.

This was with 3 people and one of them sitting in the bow.

I skied at about 4200 RPM when the engine was on the Glastron, that was 35-36 MPH.

Once again I don't know the real numbers yet but that was too fast. My wife ended up aroud 3900 RPM today.

The wake is great too, just a little bump and you are across it.

Sounds like the boats working out great. You need to try a trophy not sure what all props you have back there. Im betting the trophy will be the best all around prob either 24 or 25. Dont forget about the scream and fly up here.Just in case ya have a couple weeks nothing to do. As well as few thousand dollers burning a hole in you pocket. It be great to have ya guys back up here for that with your boat.:bigthumb:

Not bad for the 1st time out

I have several props here to try. I just got back from Summit Racing, bought a Mallory electric fuel pump and all the goodies to make it work. Something just ain't right with the stock pump, I have spent too much time and money trying to make that thing work. It seems ok and then runs out of gas at idle, the fuel filter is empty.

Once I have dependable fuel I can fine tune the jetting and start testing props. The jack plate is hydraulic so I need to get a water pressure gauge too, then I can mess with height too!

It'll be right on Brian's tale, hahaha.
