Here is a very rare boat. I'll let HemiBee fill in the details.

Thanks guys...It's a blast...

I've had the boat for about a year. Run it on the Chesapeake Bay. Takes the rough water pretty well. It has twin 2.4, 200hp's w/ nose cones and low water pick-ups, Gil brackets and 14.5 x 28 labbed props. Runs 72 (gps) w/low fuel and 2-people. Runs 68-69 full of gas and 4. Had a soft spot in the floor and needed a new gas tank so I have it torn apart. The last 18" of the stringers were mush :shakehead: . Cut new stringers , knee braces and sub-floor today. The gas tank is supposed to be ready this week.

The boats history is not real clear. Here's what I know. It was rigged w/tripples by a place in Florida and raced for awhile. Second owner put the brackets on and 260EFI's. A buddy of mine bought it 3-years ago. It ran 83 (radar)w/the 260's. (I have one 260 drop on and looking for another....anyone have one they want to get rid of????)

Doing some updating while I have it apart. Brackets are being powdercoated, new upholstery (that black burns my arse!!!!) and new carpet.

Thanks again for the kind words

Thanks Kip. Have not been able to find out much about them....Any idea how many were made and what years they were made? Mike thought he remembered the factory raced one?

Yea.....one was raced from the factory here(Ashland Express-the boss himself raced it) and (Ocean Outboard-the dealer) raced one for years. As far as i can tell we only sold about 10 of them from 83 to sometime in the late 80's. The accual model name was 2800 SX O/B.Most of our offshore bottoms were based off this boat and the original Convincor 25' model !

.....forgot to mention i found one originally sold to Sundance Marine in Florida. That's most likely the one you have! :thumb:
