Holley Blue

My fuel pump went out last weekend, it sits on top of raw water pump, I decided to install a Holley Blue electric w/regulator and all steel braided hose, the job went smooth and test guage sez 7 PSI. I turned the switch on with the throtle wide open and can see gas dripping at the rear venturi. I am guessing my needle/seat is bad. My Mercuriser manual sez this is a Weber Carb. Looks like a Qjet. Anyone had this problem. Thanks Bj218

At 7 psi, you may be blowing the needle off the seat. Try to lower the pressure to 6 psi and see if the problem goes away. Just make sure you dont lean out at wot.

throw that junk qjet away and buy yourself a holly... braaaaa....

four barrel 660 cfm dual pumper..

i can smell the horses.. and the unburnt fuel in the exaust

Double pumper or vacuum secondary? I say check the float bowl because I had mine set too high and too much fuel got in the secondary bowl and would drip down the boosters in to the carb. The only thing I can say is make sure you float level is set correctly.

Thanks y'all, I'll give both a try, I have a 800 Dbl Holley new in box but waiting on winter overhaul to go with the M1 Procharger sitting next to it. Bj218

what merc is calling a webber is a carter afb and they have used them for a few years now with a adapter on the intake, anyway they don't like fuel pressure more than 5.5 lbs, if this is what you have...really don't think the q-jets like any more either...Rob

Well, I turned the PSI down to 6 and threw in a new carb kit, I dont think it has 10 pieces, going out Sat and we shall see.

New used boat

First run, temp sez 200 limp back to dock - change impeller,thermostat,gauage---all is good.

Second run, mech. fuel pump goes out, towed back to dock, 2 miles- change to holley blue---all is good.

Third run, Volt meter sez 9 volts and dropping, head to dock, boat dies as we coast up to dock-repair alternator wire and rebuild carb.

Fourth run, this sat. wish me luck cuz I sure love boating
