Last month someone was talking about Vinegar and water to wipe down there boat, they said it cut water spots. Last summer I was having a terrible time with water spots on the back of my Black boat, I pulled the boat out of storage today and had to try it. I couldnt beleiv how well it worked, spray it on let it sit a few minutes and wipe them off.

Does anyone else have any old school or home brewed sectets theyed like to share?

i wish i would have known about this when i was boating in that hard water. ill try it this season for sure.

for the seats you want to use a Mr. Clean magic eraser. just dip it in water and rub the dirt away. it gets down in the nooks. it also works great on cooler tops. :thumb:

Beat me to it! Mr. Clean works great on upholstery.

If you get scuffs on your boat mainly on the bottom. For instance if your trailer has them old black rollers and leaves black streaks on your boat.

The Mr clean magic eraser takes them right off. And my well water is hard so if I don't towel dry I have bad water spots. The Mr Clean car wash system works perfect, no towel drying.

Murphys oil soap on the interior. My vinyl is 20 years old with no cracks or tears. Wash it every spring and fall with the stuff and it works great. No Armorall used to date.

if you didn't check out my thread -miratic acid is the way to clean stainless props!!!!! just rub and rinse!:thumb:

Tried them out...WOW

Both the vinegar and miratic acid tips worked great. Prop was clean in minutes with the miratic acid at full strength. Tried it deluted first with very little success. The vinegar I put some on a rag and wiped it across my
outdrive and the scum line where the boat sits in the water. WOW it was gone in seconds. This is going to speed things up.

Great tips keep them coming.

What mixture ..1/2 and 1/2 ???
Or do you spray vinegar and then rinse w/water ??

Flitz

I have used Flitz to take the blueing off my harley pipes, clean and polished aluminum wheels, even used it to clean up brass and chrome. The only problem is it is a very, very fine polishing compound, you should coat your pieces with wax or something else after polishing to keep the shine for any length of time. Ive even clear powder coated polished pieces with decent results.

Does anyone use SIMPLE GREEN to do any cleaning? I use it for just about everything, but am not sure if it will have an adverse affect on my gel coat.

I didnt know what mixture for the water/vinager so I mixed it about 1/3 vinager 2/3 water and it worked good, used it in a spray bottle and wiped off with a micro fiber cloth.
