I'm sure a thread like this has been done before, but most of us are always doing something to improve our performance, so it's time to update. I would like to see members post there personal boat specs. ,and current top speed numbers. What you have done to your engine, horsepower numbers, prop specs, and any other mechanical or speed/power details you would like to add. I'll start it off...

1988 251 Convincor Stock 454 with Wieand 177 supercharger running 4.5 lbs. boost. Timing is set at 28 degrees total. Holley 800 cfm carb. Stock everything else. If the blower is adding 125-150 horsepower as it's sopposed to then I'm around 450-475HP. Best speed numbers are 69.7 down river on GPS. I'm running a 26 Bravo 1 prop @ 4500 rpm. It runs about 3 mph slower with my 28 Hydromotive @ 4250rpm. Still expiermenting with props... and waiting for the cooler weather to get it over 70mph. The supercharger has gained me 12-13 mph. at a cost of $1900.00.

I'm looking forward to seeing other members specs. and how much work and expense it took to get there.

My 259 will run 84 on a good day with good conditions, right chop, cooler air, less weight on board. It will run 80 any day. All work has been rigged and / or done myself. As for power, I built an N.A. 540. Relatively mild, low compression, hydraulic roller cam, A.F.R. heads, all good parts.. Made 680 h.p. @ 5800 rpm and 660 ft lbs of torque @ 4900 rpm. CMI full dry headers, GGB extreme mufflers. Thats is in front of an Merc XR upper and Imco SC lower ( standard length ) , spinning a labbed 25 P5-X Hydromotive. Imco dual ram full hydraulic steering, Dana Marine HP-1000 tabs.

Little Diplomat I/O (17 ft) 5.7v8 forged flat tops, good 3 angle on the heads, Too much cam(was in block, I wish I knew the spec's) Edelbrock performer intake w/ Holley 650 doublepumper with powervalves plugged off. turning a 14.5x20p Mach Sterndriver 4 blade to 5300 rpm w/ alpha outdrve.
Looking for a cheap gps to check speed. I think it has a lot more in it, but we had a hydrofoil on the outdrive that I want to take off, and I think it will need trim tabs to offset the weight in the back of the boat.
Big change from the 4 cyl that came in the boat!!!!

Come on jkeiper, lets hear your secret.:D

Mine, 1994 pulse 185,
175 efi mag mariner
23 laser II
5 1/2 in. jack plate

2001 300 Convincor (no notch), Mercury 525SC, Lightning headers, Teague 4.5" select tips, full helm hydraulic steering, K-tabs, HP gimbal, Bravo 1, Big oil cooler, tweaked 1050 dominator carb (stock with motor), 5 lbs boost (stock), 69.7 GPS 2 people 1/2 tank fuel 25P Hydromotive QIV, 70.5 GPS same load 4900rpm 26P Bravo 1, 72.3 GPS same load 28P labbed bravo 1. Need to get my 26 labbed to reach 5200rpm. If I don't sell the boat I will add a Super Chiller, bigger cam, roller lifters etc. hoping for 600 + hp and high 70's. I will post after the winter with results.

Not to impressive but here are the numbers:

1989 Checkmate Predictor
1989 Mercury 115 4cyl.
Land and Sea Hydraulic Jack
26 pitch Chopper
59.3 gps @ 5900- 6000 RPM

Hoping to move up to a V6 this winter:devil:

Very stable! Once you are on the pad, it takes very little effort to hold it there. At max speed in calm water, I think you could turn loose of the steer wheel! boatman

Pulsare 2100 BR with 2006 225 Pro XS.

Setup with 6" Manual Jack plate raised almost to the top. Spinning a 27p Tempest @ 5700. Top speed is 76.1 on GPS with bow cover on and 75.5 with the cover off.

I have hopes for 78 on GPS with 10" set back and a labbed 27.

84' Enchanter with 04' 225 H.O, Slightly modified, turning a custom 30p raker II, at 6100rpms, with 6 inch jack, omc to merc lower, runs right at 83.4gps! Thats the best i've got will run 78-80 anyday!! Walks alittle at top end but that keeps it fun!!

Borrowed a GPS today for the last run of the season.
'85 Predictor
'87 Merc 115 6-cyl
I was able to get 51.7 mph. (Quite Windy)
5600 to 5800 rpm
No jackplate
22P Michigan Wheel stainless

If the tach is correct, I might be able to go up in pitch.
Normal range is 5000-5500 per owner's manual.

What do you think??
